Who’s am I?

My name is Minna, I am a Savannah, GA based writer and journalist. I am also a dancer of 20 years. It is my favorite thing in the world, other than moss.

What is kast/press?

Currently, kast/press features a body-horror series ‘Scales.’ It is reflective of a post-apocalyptic, pandemic event that causes an extinction en masse. The story follows Ivy and her dog, Lily through the new bogs of bodies, death, and survival in this new world order. Searching and filtering through the grief to regain some things that were lost. It is based in a less lovely Savannah, GA, where I call home. ‘Scales’ releases every Tuesday.

On Saturday’s we feature a poem, or prose excerpt, on the series ‘Saturday Morning Poems’—groundbreaking, I know.

This newsletter is for you if you love: horror, the melancholy glory of a warm blanket and a craftsman house; the ghosts that inevitably live in that craftsman’s house, or surrealist tangential thought and romantic in its indulgences. Everything here is connected, no gateway is off-limits.

This is the land of the Southern Gothic. We have wit and we have bite, and I must remind you to, indeed, not ‘follow the lights.’

Welcome little ghosts.

I am a mistress of melancholy; I come from the drowning sea. The deepest of dark, dense and pristine. Though it shrieks, and though it whines, the lion is a liar; and your brain too, lies still. Sublime is the terror of being alive, the ever-winding hill.
