One Brief Break

a Thanksgiving Day poem.

one brief 
break from the grief. 

one brief break from the singing bowls of bowels this groans,
and that bemoans. holding gently but firm, in endless waters. the tit for tat.
or, perhaps, a tête-à-tête. the pas de deux between what is 
and what isn't perceived by the masses and 
graves. 

one brief break 
and we gather the waters again.
